FANATIC!

Gosh it has been a long time, I guess I am not good at this whole blog thing. I thought it would be easy but I am way to busy enjoying life right not to be sitting at home and blogging. Right now I needed and excuse not to do homework.
Living and working at Disney has been a dream. I still don't believe that I am here right now working on the Disney College Program. I just had my 30 day interview with my manager, Victor, and he asked me if there was anything that I would change or liked to be fixed and I said no! I absolutley love it here. Some of the other cast members say that I am way to happy, and I can honestly say that I can't think of a time that I have ever been this happy. I don't ever want to leave!
The other day at work on of my managers came over to me and handed me a slip of paper and I thought that I was in so much trouble, but it was a Fanatic Card. A Fanatic card is when a guest or another cast member notices you doing something good and my manager thought that I was showing positive energy, and that I was good at giving directions to the guests. so now I have a positive mark on my record card :) This makes me so happy. Hopefully the Professional Internship people look at that.

WAY TO MUCH FUN!

It has been so long since the last time I have written here, obviously I have been having way to much fun! I am getting used to  work everyday now, and it is much easier to get through it now that I am becoming friends with a lot of the people I work with :) Since I work in the afternoons, it is pretty slow and most of the time I get put on utilities, which means that I have to sweep by the turnstiles or stock the map carts. But most of the time there are five of us doing the same thing, so everything gets done but then we have time just to walk around, help other people on turnstiles, or sometimes just talk and laugh with each other.  I love the fact that on my days off my roommates and I can go into the Disney parks for free!

I have worked the last seven days in a row and today is my 'Friday' and I am so excited about tonight! Tonight my roommates and I are going to have a Fiesta Dinner. We are going to make Mexican food and drink Mexican martinis. I have never had a Mexican martini before but it sounds good. to make it you mix Tequila, orange liquor and an orange drink. After we are done with dinner we are going to head out to a place called the Miller Ale House where it is ladies night so I can get free drinks all night long :) It's nice to have at least one night a week where I can go out and not spend any money. Even though today is my Friday, tomorrow I have volunteering and on Thursday I have my class, so I really won't have a day off until next week Monday. Well I have to finish getting ready for work,

INTERVIEW TOMORROW!

I am so nervous right now, I have my interview for the professional internship program at Disney tomorrow at 1:45. I applied for a few roles as an events assistant. I really hope that since I have been an events intern before that will help me get my dream job. I would just love to stay here in Orlando forever. I really thought that I would miss Wisconsin but I don't. I miss certain people but I love living in Florida. Getting this internship would make me the happiest person :)
Having amazing roommates made the transition to Florida much easier. We have the best time together. Yesterday we talked at the breakfast table for over an hour about the weirdest topics. We talked about STDs and alcohol. Don't ask me how we got on this topic but we had fun. we laughed the entire time. And once again this morning we were all at the breakfast table for about two hours talking about wild animals, our jobs, and jail. Good news is that none of us has ever been to jail. But Jenay had to go to a women's prison for some project for school once and she had to talk to women who have killed people. But that is the closet any of us has ever gotten to going to jail. The roommates get along but we are very weird together, we usually can't stop laughing.
My job is going well. I like most of the people I work with, they all seem nice. I think that the fact that I am forced to smile for over 6 hours everyday and forced to make other people smile makes it hard to get upset. Even when you deal with a very upset guest the next guest will make you fell great because you helped them out in some way and they are very thankful for it. I love it when people say "Thank You So Much Miss Lori". And 99% of the time I make someone happy and that makes me happy. I could be here at Disney for the rest of my life.

I EARNED MY EARS!

So I have officially earned my ears! I completed the training assessment with a 100%. Now I can go to work and not have anybody looking over my shoulder, it makes working a lot easier. When I completed my assessment, my coordinator changed my status from training to a level 1 (I don't really know what that means) so I am officially a Disney Cast Member. After the assessment I got to meet with one of my managers, he seemed really nice. I even talked to him briefly about doing the professional internship once I have completed the college program.

Right now I am on my first day off since I started training. I have a huge to-do list. I got a little late to getting around to starting it this morning because I got lost driving around. I wanted to see what was in my new neighborhood and I got lost. luckily I found the '4' and saw a sign to take me back to Disney. I finally got back to where I knew I lived and went to run my usual errands. Now I am just doing some laundry and cleaning up around the room. My next task is to start working on my resume for the professional internship, Wish Me Luck!

Traditions and a Magical Moment

Yesterday I had my Traditions Class. The Traditions Class is an introductory seminar on the Walt Disney Company. It was amazing. We got to watch a video were Walt Disney himself was welcoming all the employees to Disneyland, I got chills.  I knew that Disney was one of the largest entertaining corporations in the World, but to see everything that they have their hands in was amazing. They own several production companies, televisions stations, and several theater productions. We also learned that the Disney Parks are not theme parks, they are a show. When you are in the park you are on stage and have to be in costume. We played games in class and I won a little Minnie Mouse. The day finished up with Mickey Mouse coming into our classroom and giving us our official Disney Nametags! it was so cool! This whole experience was just unbelievable, I feel like I am in a dream:)
Once Traditions was over, two of my roommates and I went to Magic Kingdom. We got there right before the fireworks were about to start, so we ran over to Splash Mountain and got right on and watch the fireworks while riding, it was so magical. after that we went on thunder mountain, where there was not wait, and we had a Magical Moment and got to ride it twice! we didn't have to get off, the cast member told us to stay on. we finished the night with a ride on Pirates. On our way out we got to see some of the electrical parade. It was an amazing night at the Magic Kingdom.

Finally Made It!

I am finally in Florida and all moved in! Yesterday started bright and early for me. I got up and was in the check-in line around 7:00. While I was in line I met someone who was very similar to me, so her and her roommate signed up to live with me and my roommate. All four of us (Me, Jenay, Brianna, and Samantha) will be living in Patterson in a 2 bedroom. the Patterson Apartments are really nice; they are almost brand new and there is 24 hour security. Once all the housing was taken care of, we headed over to casting where we were assigned our roles. I will be a greeter at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park! I am so excited because I heard that the Animal Kingdom doesn't stay open really late like all of the other parks.
Once the casting was over, I finally was able to go see my new apartment. It is really nice. Jenay and I share a bathroom that is connected to our bedroom and Brianna and Samantha are in the other bedroom with  their own bathroom. We have areally nice balcony and my Mom said she would be willing to buy us some patio furniture, Thanks Mom!.  The rest of the afternoon consisted of unpacking, doing some shopping and having a housing meeting.
Last night I went out with my parents for one last dinner together before they left. We went to eat at Downtown Disney. That place has such a great night life, I have a feeling I will be spending many nights there over the next few months. Once dinner was over we walked around for a little bit and then I said goodbye to my parents and headed back to my apartment where I finished unpacking and hanging up all my clothes. After everything was put away I got ready for my first night in me new apartment.
This morning I woke up and looked out my window and saw palm trees! that made me really happy. But so far for most of the day it has been raining. I ran some errands to get some more things for the apartment and I got to sign up for my corporate analysis class that I will be taking. I lucked out, because my class is in the Patterson Classrooms so I don't have to walk very far to get to class. So far I have been very lucky, I have gotten everything that I wanted!

It's Almost Time :)

I am so excited because in exactly one week I will be officially in Florida! I have some packing already done, plus I got a shopping list put together. I am kind of sad right now because I just got back form Green Bay where I got to see one of my best friends form college, but I am not sure when I will see her again if I decide to do another program or an internship at Disney :(
On a good note, I have found out that "Beauty and the Beast" is coming out on DVD October 8th. I get to be in Disney when it is released.
ONLY 8 DAYS LEFT UNTIL MOVE IN DAY!
